the 9th looks crazy!! great workout. yeah, 192 bpm... I'm actually feeling my heart jump up to my throat and after 5 seconds of 192-193, I slow down significantly until I get around 171 bpm, then try to increase the bpm again... I guess it's a form of interval training, but I call it just "toying with how to to knock the wind out of me" The crashing feeling I get when I rush into a sweeper/fullback without slowing down because I was looking at where the soccer ball would go at the same time. same feeling except for a little longer. It's like craving a form of pain. yes, it's strange. but whatever works.

Hey Josh, jeez you like MMA! That's a pretty intense week of training that you have! I'm working up to spending 6 months in Thailand training Muay Thai and MMA at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket - should be tough but great!

Hey that's 26 weeks... which is 312 training sessions... which is 936 hours sweating... which is 39 days! 39 days of actual training... I need a mentor!

Tues 7-9pm Thai Boxing and Sparring

Thanks for the add. Wow--you're passionate about mma... I watch it, but I don't think I'll ever be a Gina Carrano. Maybe someday, I might just join my brother's boxing gym and try it out when I get in shape. My personal fave is bj penn. (eh) It's not just because I lived in Hawaii for over 10 years, but he's just really flexible. Don't forget the boxing skills or else you'll end up like a "toughman" slugging like a tard(just jokin). -G

Joined a gym down the street. They have 6, count em! SIX power cages. And rows of benches and free weight sets. I'm looking forward to being pampered instead of slumming it with a basement bench and garage heavy bag.

Talked to a boxing trainer today. He has a gym in savage, about an hours drive from my house. I'm trying to get a carpool going so I can start training in a real gym soon. They also have a MMA / NHB program, and a handful of fighters. That would be huge step in the right direction! My former outfit (as in training crew) was a little slipshod. Though, he did say I had to train at least 6 months with them before I could fight for their gym. Give me all your good luck charms, if this works out, and I can keep my grades from suffering, this will be a huge accomplishment for me.

As far as training news goes, I'm getting back in the swing, coming off some weird sickness I caught up north. Weights and running. Starting now!

Thanks Josh! I'm definitely feeling like a rockstar. Though it'd be nice if I actually had a pair of pants that fit. :/ Constantly pulling your pants up or having them horribly bunched up by your belt isn't very rockstar at all!

Glad to see you back. You're going to have to keep us all posted on your MMA happenings. 'Cause that's just plain badass.

Back from the canadian boundary waters. Nothing like carrying a 80lb pack and a 90 lb canoe over forest trails to burn some calories. School is in, and that means MMA should be in full swing. More later. Good to be home!

All the cool kids are deadlifting their bodyweight lately. Must be a sign.

Way to go on that. It's not terribly easy. Now just try to keep up with me and we'll see if we can't get to 1.5 x our bodyweight, yeah? I know I'm deadlifting tonight, upward and onward.

Dead-lifted my weight (rounded up to 200) today. Its a far cry from my goal of 280, but its a moral victory. Thanks to Josephine for inspiration. (she just accomplished the same relative milestone)

Week 3. So far up to 4k calories / 180g Protein a day. 2 gallons of milk a week. Still not on interval training, but doing high intensity, short duration workouts. 3 days of conditioning. 3 days of weights. 1 day rest. Still losing weight.

5 more weeks until Vacation, then back for fall semester.

Am I setting any records? Not yet. But, after my trip to Paris, I will be able to focus A LOT more on my workouts. Of course, school will start shortly thereafter, but it'll all be good. I want to go from 6.38 miles to 8 miles soon, but I'll go to 7.something first. Thanks for asking! I need that.
